I get an error when submitting feedback form with FrontPage.
Solution Most likely the error that you receive is this: Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page: http://...

If you are using instant access domain alias, feedback form published with FrontPage will not work at all.

There are several possibilities to fix this problem.

Re-configure Frontpage Extension
To do this:
  • Login to your Control Panel.
  • Click Web Options, and choose the domain by clicking Edit if you have more than one domain.
  • Find the row FrontPage Extensions, then click Edit.
  • Fill the Sender Email and ReplyTo Email with your e-mail. These will be used in FrontPage mail forms.
  • Click Submit when you are done.
  • If you are under a Unix-based plan, click Apply for the domain you made changes to.
Missing feedback file
Microsoft's knowledge base shows that it may be the missing file or folder that is needed to save the feedback entry.

Make sure that the directory "_private" exists in the folder, and create a blank file named "feedback.txt" or any name you want to save the feedback entry in the "_private" folder. Delete the file that has the form from server and re-publish it.

Fix from Control Panel
You can try to let the Control Panel to fix the FrontPage Extension for you by doing the following:
  • Log in to your Control Panel
  • Click FrontPage under WebServer.
  • Choose the domain and click Fix button next to the domain. Note: You may want to backup your site beforehand just in case.
Re-publish your site
If the problem persists, it may be that the binary files are corrupted. The only way to fix this is by turning off FrontPage (make sure to backup everything before doing so), delete all files, then turn it on again and re-publish everything.

When all of the above fail, please send a trouble ticket to support@fluidhosting.com, and we'll take a look at it.
